The world’s oceans cover more than 70 percent of the Earth, and nearly 97 percent of our water is ocean. Protecting, conserving, sustaining, and safeguarding oceans and its life-saving resources is critical to life today and to the future of humankind.

Better understanding our oceans is critical to our ecosystem, and satellite technology is the cornerstone of how we observe Earth and monitor and measure waterways. GeoOptics’s remote-sensing technologies provide data, imagery, and analysis of the state of our oceans and other waterways. Monitoring waterways from space and the impact on our ecosystem provides invaluable data and analysis for scientists, policymakers, industry, and citizens to better prepare for changes to our climate and efforts to preserve and safeguard our oceans.

Policymakers and regulators continue to look to the scientific community and the commercial satellite industry for advice and expertise on how to leverage ocean data and are considering efforts to expand commercial Earth observation capabilities. GeoOptics is one of the leading commercial companies to monitor water impact and the first U.S.-based commercial satellite company to provide NOAA with high-quality commercial radio occultation (RO) data from space. Our work continues through the National Oceanographic Partnership Program on a radar instrument to observe ocean vector winds, topography, soil moisture, and a variety of other surface properties with patented multi-satellite radar techniques.

GeoOptics continues to support preserving the health of our oceans and waterways, and commercial satellite technologies are a critical component to protecting and sustaining our precious waters.
