CICERO will be expanded to as many as 100 satellites by 2016 for improved 3D ionospheric imaging and 3-hour regional weather forecasting. One configuration under study, shown in the second slide and in polar view above, would place 14 LEOs in each of six high inclination planes and eight in each of two low inclination planes. One low inclination receiver for every six at higher inclinations provides roughly uniform global sampling.
